Purpose of the Role
The Business Manager is responsible for the exclusive partnership of ndb tech for the UKI and driving this UKI business. Starting off as a very hands on role, this role will be responsible for the growth, strategy and go-to-market of the offer and its overarching role in our condition based maintenance service offering. This is a commercial, operational role with a long term view of scaling the business.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Build and execute the commercial strategy for ndb Tech within ACTENIQ.
- Own sales forecasting, pipeline discipline, budgeting, and P&L contribution.
- Develop pricing models, commercial frameworks, and market penetration strategies.
- Support major deals, tenders, and negotiations across key customer accounts.
Sales & Pipeline Growth
- Drive the creation of new opportunities across target verticals (F&B, pharma, data centres, NHS, industrial).
- Oversee demos, proof-of-concept trials, technical evaluations, and customer onboarding.
- Build repeatable sales processes and ensure consistent follow-through from first meeting to install.
- Set and track KPIs for revenue, demos, POCs, conversion, margin, and installed base growth.
Operations & Execution
- Ensure delivery excellence, from site surveys through installation to monitoring.
- Plan and coordinate resources for field engineers, partners, and subcontractors.
- Drive customer satisfaction and long-term monitoring program adoption.
Partnership Management
- Act as the primary relationship owner with ndb Tech.
- Run joint business reviews, training alignment, product feedback loops, and go-to-market planning.
- Manage co-marketing, partner events, and product rollout strategies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead the team required to scale the division (sales engineers, application engineers, field service engineers, coordinators).
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Shape the culture and ensure alignment to Acteniq’s mission and values.
Strategy & Growth
- Develop the division’s 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year strategic roadmap.
- Identify new revenue streams, service bundles, and market segments.
- Drive innovation and ensure ACTENIQ stays ahead in the PD/CBM space.
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Manager, Sales Manager, Technical Sales Leader, or Business Unit Leader in the electrical, industrial, or condition-monitoring sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure: LV/HV switchgear, transformers, UPS, MCCs, protection systems, or condition-based monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to lead commercial strategy and own sales results.
- Experience working with OEMs, FM providers, HV contractors, or industrial end users.
- Track record of scaling a division, product, or service line.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to operate autonomously, plan strategically, and execute with discipline.
Desirable Experience
- Background with partial discharge technologies (ndb Tech, EA Technology, Qualitrol, HVPD, Baur, etc.).
- Worked with digital monitoring solutions or advanced diagnostics.
- Experience managing partner relationships or exclusive technology agreements.
- Understanding of CBM, asset performance, power quality, or energy optimisation.
